Gene Harris Jazz Fest Painting

I participating in the Gene Harris Jazz Festival this July. I had the privilege of painting a live interpretation of the music.

You're in Line of Consumption

This is a participation art project or a Do it yourself piece. I gathered several tubes and put instructions inside for the individual participating in "Line of Consumption". The instructions were for each individual to put an object that defines them as a person inside the tube along with a sample of their urine. This relationship between the natural waste of our body and the object being contained- is what I find most interesting. The line represents this never ending theme of waste and consumption in our society. The container not only represents our body but also our artificial way of fulfilling our desires.

Oil Paintings

These are a couple of my recent figure paintings. I'm approaching the body as if we (human-flesh) is more than the figure, there is something beyond--some transcendence, and a relationship between the body and the other.
